Ditch the Scale

Let’s get real. The scale sucks. It really sucks.

I know so many people, including myself, that get so caught up with what the scale says, it it even has the power to completely derail them from their goals. The other day I thought about that for a moment and realized how truly ridiculous it is to rely on a arbitrary number that simplifies everything about losing weight and getting healthy. It ignores the many incredible benefits of eating well and exercising, and yet we still allow it to rule our thoughts and feelings.

Weight loss, healthy eating and exercising is complex. It cannot just be measured by how much you weigh. You are on a path to better health, to a stronger body, and to a better life. How can the scale possibly measure that?!

Don’t let the scale be your ultimate measure of success. It’s often a liar and a manipulator and you don’t need that negativity in your life. Try to go by how your clothes fit, and measure yourself to track inches lost (especially if you’re working out). Take progress pictures at the beginning and throughout your journey so you can compare them and visually see the changes in your body. Don’t rely solely on the scale as a measure of your success. Break up with it. You’ll be happy that you did.

Keto on,

Evie
